Mamadou Faye

Research Collaborator

Mamadou is a PhD student and researcher at the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences at the University “Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar” in Dakar, Senegal. His research is on the topic of international migration law, with a research focus on the protection of "migrants in vulnerable situations" who are nationals of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

His research examines how the interaction of different legal regimes (relating to human rights in general and to West African migration specifically) shapes the legal infrastructure of mobility in regard to the effective protection of immigrants´ rights.

Mamadou holds a Master’s degree in Public Law with a specialization in International Relations and three complementary certificates in human rights awarded by the René Cassin International Institute of Human Rights Foundation, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom at the West Africa Regional Office and the European Union Delegation in Senegal. These certificates were achieved respectively in 2018 on “Multinational Enterprises and International Human Rights Law”, in 2022 on “Environment and International Human Rights Law”, and in 2023 on "Armed Conflicts and International Human Rights Law".

Mamadou has served as a consultant for several international organizations, notably by coordinating a national study for an alternative report of Senegal’s migration policy for the Rosa Luxembourg Foundation, and recently, he has taken up the role as the executive coordinator of the NGO ACCA (Alliance contre le crime organisé en Afrique).
