Early career scholar workshop with Petra Molnar
Guest: Petra Molnar is a lawyer and anthropologist specializing in migration and human rights. She is the Associate Director of the Refugee Law Lab at York University and Faculty Associate at Harvard’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, Al Jazeera, Time Magazine, and others. Her first book The Walls Have Eyes: Surviving Migration in the Age of Artificial Intelligence came out in spring 2024 with The New Press.
Early career scholar workshop: Following Petra Molnar’s talk on her book The Walls Have Eyes: Surviving Migration in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, MOBILE will host a workshop for early career researchers. This workshop will bring together scholars from various disciplines working at the intersection of borders and technology to tackle the methodological, ethical, and access-related challenges they encounter when engaging with vulnerable populations on the move. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where discussions around power dynamics and intercultural issues can be addressed openly. By bridging disciplines—from anthropology and history to health and law—we aim to foster interdisciplinary connections and peer-learning. Petra Molnar will offer valuable insights and reflections during the session.

Place: MOBILE – 6B-2-22 Southern Campus, 2nd floor, Building 6B, Njalsgade 76, 2300 Copenhagen S
