Presenter: Tehseen Jäger is a PhD student from the Salzburg Centre of European Union Studies (SCEUS).

Presentation: Tehseen Jäger’s doctoral research, titled “Precarious and Substandard Employment of Third-Country Nationals in EU Member States - At the Crossroads between Migration Control and Protecting Migrants,” delves into the complex relationship between immigration policies and labour market access. His work aims to highlight the factors contributing to the exploitation of migrants within the EU, with a particular focus on the impact of the 2009 Employer Sanctions Directive and the visa practices concerning the posting of third-country nationals. Drawing on political science and economics, his research engages with key debates in migration and EU studies, offering fresh perspectives on the challenges migrants face in the European labour market.
