New Visiting Researcher at MOBILE - Christian Brown Prener

Portrait photo of Christian PrenerChristian Brown Prener is Assistant Professor of Public International Law at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) currently based at the European University Institute as a Carlsberg Foundation Research Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies. 

 

Christian’s research focuses on critical intersections of transnational human mobility, international law, fundamental rights and citizenship. Recent publications include “Citizenship as Legal Infrastructure” forthcoming in the German Law Journal (co-authored by Thomas Gammeltoft-Hansen, 2025), the monograph Denationalisation and Its Discontents (Brill 2022)The Dichotomy within Denationalisation published in the International Journal of Discrimination and the Law (2022) and Citizenship Revocation and the Question of Proportionate Consequences  in the Statelessness and Citizenship Review (2023). 

 

During his stay at MOBILE, Christian will start working on his new research project, Mobility Disenfranchisement: Infrastructures of the Global Mobility Divide (MOVIDE), funded by the Carlsberg Foundation.  

 

Christian received his Ph.D. in International Law from the University of Aarhus in 2021, and is a former Visiting Researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) iCourts, and MOBILE, Faculty of Law, UCPH.
